The Domain Authority question
Moz invented Domain Authority (DA), the 0–100 score that became shorthand for “how strong is this site”. It's genuinely useful and widely quoted. But it's important to understand what it is: Moz's model, trained to predict ranking, on Moz's link index. Ahrefs' Domain Rating (DR) is the same idea on a different index, and the two disagree for plenty of sites.
Neither is “the” authority of a site — there is no such official number. That's why paying purely for a DA/DR figure is questionable: the underlying math (link-based authority on a 0–100 scale) is computable from any large link graph, which is exactly what our free authority checker does.
Backlinks and keywords: Ahrefs is deeper
